Brightward modernizes the back office of general contractors.

Most of a contractor’s office work is reading, retyping, and chasing. We simplify and automate it with AI, on the systems you already run. Nothing gets typed twice and the numbers tie from estimate to pay application, so fewer things come back and more jobs get through the same office. We train the people you already have to run it, and they approve everything before it goes out.

Workflows we improve

Each engagement takes on one of these at a time.

  1. Design to estimate. The drawings and specs read, takeoffs and scope breakdowns produced, past costs pulled, and the estimate assembled for your estimator to price.
  2. Subcontractor coordination and change communication.Scope packaged to subs, quotes compared in one shape, design details locked, and every change written up for the owner.
  3. Submittals, RFIs, and project correspondence. The project inbox read, submittals and RFI responses drafted, and a running log and decision record kept.
  4. Pay applications and lender draws.Sub pay apps, lien waivers, and backup rolled into the billing package, reconciled against the schedule of values, with gaps flagged before the owner or the bank sees them.
  5. Scheduling, closeout, and the rest.Schedules built and updated from scope and sub commitments, then the same pattern for closeout, safety, and HR paperwork.

How an engagement runs

  1. Discovery. We spend time in your office mapping how one workflow runs today and what it touches.
  2. Assessment and roadmap.A written read on where automation fits in your office and in what order.
  3. Implementation. One workflow, built on live jobs, on the systems you already use, with your people reviewing every output.
  4. Handover and training.Your office runs it, with a plain explanation of how it works and what to do when it doesn’t.

Who it’s for

Commercial general contractors that are too big to run on the owner’s memory and too small to have someone whose job is technology. Tenant improvements, restaurants and hospitality, light industrial, mixed use: the jobs that run on pay applications, lender draws, and a long list of subs. The owner buys the engagement. The coordinator, estimator, or project manager who lives in the paperwork runs what gets built and gets more jobs through the office. The same problem shows up in other trades and back offices outside construction, and we’re open to that work too. We’re taking our first engagements and learning where a contractor’s office spends its week.

Tell us which part of your office costs the most time.

We’ll answer with example deliverables from a live job, and say whether the outcome is worth an engagement.
